What we hear from operators
Challenges we see
These come up with activity providers, cafes, accommodation and attractions alike.
Visitors decide on their phone
Many visitors search when they are already in town: bike hire, a table for tonight, something to do when it rains. A thin Google Business Profile sends them to the next business.
Bookings scattered across channels
Enquiries arrive by phone, email and direct message. The same questions get answered all day, peak season brings double bookings, and staff end up managing a diary instead of guests.
A short season, a fixed budget
Ads that run all year spend money when nobody is booking, and no ads in peak season leaves high-intent searches to competitors. Without call tracking, you cannot tell what worked.
Journeys that exclude some customers
Small tap targets, unlabelled form fields and date pickers that need a mouse lock some customers out. Online booking and payments may also fall under the European Accessibility Act.
Services and fixed-scope offers
How we help
We usually start with local search and bookings, because that is where visitors decide. Fixed scope, ask for a quote.
Local search
Google Business Profile optimisation, mobile-first pages for your main activities and local SEO. For paid search in season, see search advertising.
Bookings
Bookings taken inside your own WordPress site with Gravity Forms or LatePoint: availability you control, automatic confirmations and fewer messages to answer by hand.
Food and drink
Advice on choosing and setting up ePOS and online ordering for cafes, restaurants and attractions, with weekly sales reporting into Google Sheets.
Accessibility

Compliance notes
- European Accessibility Act: in force in Ireland since 28 June 2025 (S.I. No. 636 of 2023), it covers a range of consumer services sold online, which can include booking and eCommerce. Some micro-enterprises are exempt from parts of it, so ask your adviser how it applies to you.
- AI at the front desk: if staff use ChatGPT or Gemini to answer reviews or enquiries, Article 4 of the EU AI Act (applying since 2 February 2025, amended in 2026) expects employers to take measures to support their staff’s AI literacy. Our training covers it.

Common questions from tourism businesses
Can you add online booking to our existing website?
Usually, yes. We build booking systems inside existing WordPress sites with Gravity Forms or LatePoint, so you keep your design and your domain.
Should we use a booking platform or our own system?
Third-party platforms bring visibility but take a commission and own the customer relationship. Your own system gives you control of availability, data and follow-up, and many businesses use both.
Can guests get confirmations by text?
Yes. The booking system we built for MPOWER at HIV Ireland sends SMS confirmations, verifies each phone number and follows up with a short survey. The same approach works for tours, rentals and classes.
When should we run Google Ads?
For most seasonal businesses, in peak season and on high-intent searches near your location, with call and enquiry tracking switched on. That is how we ran ads for Paddy & Nelly Bikes in Westport.
Can you help us show up in AI answers?
Yes. Some visitors now ask ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity for things to do nearby. Our SEO and AI search work checks how these tools describe your business and fixes the information they draw on, starting with your Google Business Profile and website.
What should we fix first before peak season?
Your Google Business Profile, your mobile booking page and call tracking. Those three affect visitors who are already nearby and ready to book, and they are quick to check.
Do you work with tourism businesses outside Dublin?
Yes. Our tourism case studies come from Westport in Mayo and from Leitrim. Most work runs remotely, and we travel for kick-offs and staff training where that helps.
